Stuff I Meant to Tell You

Given the state of the current labour dispute between The BC Liberals and The BCTF, I may be accused of adding more information that could be seen as “bargaining in the media”.  My intention however, is not to enter the numbers debate around what is currently on the table.  Despite the fact that the Liberals did place a 2 page newspaper ad in the Lower Mainland, purchased Twitter and Facebook ads, all of these having been openly criticised for being misleading and a decried as a poor use of tax money, I would like to instead, simply look back.

One clear way in which Teachers have been treated differently is in wages.  Minister Fassbender emphatically states that teachers need to be treated like the other 40% of public servants who have settled for 5.5% over five years.  During 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, the government pattern was 3.5%, while teachers received 0’s…
